Do you require a deposit?
A deposit of $50 per booking is required within 7 days of receipt of invoice. I prefer this to be paid via direct bank deposit. A receipt for your deposit will be emailed to you.

When do the parties need to be paid in full by?
Parties need to be paid in full prior to the commencement of the party, payment is preferred via direct bank deposit.

What happens if I need to cancel my party?
If you need to cancel your party the deposit will be retained to cover admin and cost of preparing for your party. If the birthday child is sick we will try to reschedule your event so that you don’t lose your deposit.

How do I Make a booking?
The best way to make a booking is to send a booking request via this website, and I will call to discuss your party needs. Please feel free to specify a good time to call.

Face Painting

Do you take last minute bookings?
We are happy to take last minute bookings for face painting and balloon twisting. Art parties need at least 14 days to organize staff and activities.

How many faces can you paint per hour?
I can paint 10 – 12 full faces per hour or up to 15 quick faces, however this can vary between parties. Please let me know how long you require a face painter.

What is your minimum booking time?
My minimum booking time for face painting is 1.5 hours although this is down to the discretion of Paint n Sparkles depending on the distance to the venue.

Do you charge a travel surcharge?
I will travel up to 30 km’s from East Keilor. If you are further than this a $25 travel fee will be applied.

Are all your face paints safe for use on skin?
All supplies I use for face painting are professional face paints that are FDA approved for use on skin. Occasionally reactions can happen, if you think your child may have a reaction, a skin test can be done 15 minutes prior to the child being painted.

How do you remove your face paints?
All face paints wash off with soap and water. Some colours may stain slightly but these can be removed further by rubbing baby oil or make up remover to the area and rewashing.

What hygiene measures do you follow?
All my face paints and equipment are cleaned between parties and at the end of the day. Sponges are soaked in a Milton solution. I use a clean sponge for every child, and I rinse my brushes frequently. I also change my water often, and use wipes and hand sanitizer when necessary. My work area is always kept clean and tidy.

What do you need for face painting?

I bring everything needed to face paint I can also bring my own table and chair if space permits. Other than that I just need good light, and shelter from the sun or rain when outside.

Will you paint all children even if you run over time?
I will do my best to paint all children who want there faces painted, I try never to leave children disappointed. However if I have a booking following your party I may need to leave before everyone has been painted. If I can stay late I will stay to paint anyone not painted at no extra cost. If extra children are in attendance than booked an extra charge will be made of $15 for every extra 10 minutes. Please let me know if you have more children than planned so we can discuss extra charges or so that I can plan faster faces.

Art parties

What are your minimum numbers?
Art and craft parties require payment for at least 10 children, we can cater for up to 15-20 children depending on the activity and the space available.

When do art parties need to be booked by?
I prefer art parties to be booked 14 days prior to the party. I recommend parties are booked at least 6 weeks prior to your event to ensure you get the date and time you require.

Do you confirm the event?
A few days before your event I will call to confirm your event and the number of children attending. This is also your opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

What should I do if weather is going to affect my event?
Arrangements will need to be made if you are worried about rain or extreme temperatures.

When does the party host arrive?
Your party host will arrive at least 20 minutes early to set up, and will stay until the art party has been cleared up. If you just require face painting I will arrive 15 minutes early.

Do parents need to participate?
We prefer that parents are always close by their children, at times parents will need to help their child with activities – this especially applies to paint n sparkle art parties and younger children.

Do you offer low mess parties?

We can also plan activities that are less messy. Talk to us about possible activities.


The safety of children at your event is of the utmost importance to us, please ensure the venue is safe from pets and anything that is deemed as dangerous. Please also ensure pools are enclosed and the party venue is secure during your party. Parents are responsible for the safety of there children during party/event activities, this especially applies to younger children. At times parents will need to help out with their child’s activity. Paint n sparkles cannot be held responsible for damage to property because of a paint n sparkles party or injury because of misuse of art supplies.
